Southwest Colorado is home to a deceiving number of elk - our clients can hunt a variety of areas ranging from an exclusive guide territory up on the mountain.... or hunt for the growing herds of elk in the agricultural areas on private land areas along the Utah border. This is where the huge bulls of Utah often find their way across the border into the general season areas of Colorado.
High-country hunters stay in a remote mountain cabin and hunt using horses to access the vast guide territory. Hunters in the low country often get dropped off at blinds by 4WD trucks or possibly hunt by spot and stalk for elk moving between the agricultural fields and big sage brush and juniper filled canyons. Both areas are very productive elk hunts that produce good bulls.
