This hunt is done exclusively on private lands using elevated Banks Stump Blinds that are set up along the travel routes for the herds of elk that move from agriculture fields where they feed all night back to their bedding areas. These private lands have agriculture that draws elk from the neighboring Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge.
90% of hunting is done in the morning and we only allow and guide rifle hunters. Shot distances range from 200 to 600 yards from good rests in the blinds. This hunt is ideal for hunters with limited mobility that no longer want to hike the mountains but still want to experience the thrill of elk hunting the western states.
